Eight Advisory is pleased to announce the nomination of 5 new Partners, based in France and Belgium/UK, bringing the firm’s Partner count to 53. These nominations serve to boost and solidify the Paris, London and Brussels offices with state-of-the-art expertise in valuation and infrastructure, notably within the aeronautics and energy sectors.

Guillaume Catoire, 38 years old, has been named an Eight Advisory Partner within the Transaction Services Department. Since 2017, Guillaume has gained a significant experience in several economic sectors, with energy chief among them. An Ecole Polytechnique graduate, Mr. Catoire began his career with Lehman Brothers as a London-based trader before joining Eight Advisory’s Paris office.

Florent Garnier, 34 years old, has been named Partner on Eight Advisory’s Paris-based Transaction Services team. After an initial experience in Australia, Florent pursued his career at a Big Four in Paris before joining Eight Advisory in 2014. He possesses tremendous expertise in the area of complex financial due diligence works that entail carve-out challenges and long-term contracts. He has accompanied many clients, for the most part in the sectors of aerospace and defense, industry, consumer goods, major retail and education. Mr. Garnier holds a degree from the EDHEC Business School with a specialization in Finance.

Sébastien Smercan, 35 years old, whose Eight Advisory experience dates back to 2016, has been named Partner within the Transaction Services team of our Paris office. With an expertise in financial due diligence and an emphasis in the infrastructure and contracting sectors, Sébastien has worked on a wide array of aerospace industry projects both in France and abroad. Mr. Smercan’s engineering degree was earned at the ESTP School.

Matthew Thumas, 40 years old, has been named Eight Advisory Partner and assigned the mission of developing the Valuation & Modeling service offering in the Brussels and London offices, both of which have experienced robust growth. More specifically, Matthew is called upon to issue fairness opinions and intangible asset valuations (especially as part of Purchase Price Allocations), as well as advice on problems arising from transaction tax structuring and assistance with transaction-focused decision-making. Holding a degree from ESCP, Mr. Thumas has accumulated 15 years of experience in financial valuation, working in Paris, New York, Hyderabad (India) and Johannesburg. He joined Eight Advisory in 2019.

Maxime Touvet, 38 years old, has been named an Eight Advisory Partner within the Paris Transformation Unit which today includes nearly 100 employees. An Eight Advisory Director since 2015, Maxime regularly oversees Finance function transformation missions, in addition to handling cost optimization, carve-out and post-merger integration assignments on behalf of both investment funds and corporate clients. An alumnus of EM Lyon, Mr. Touvet also holds a Bachelor degree in philosophy and a DSCG diploma in Accounting and Management, alongside his experience in auditing and operational and financial advisory services.
